Can I ask for a higher version replacement?

Yes, you can. If you are entitled to a free replacement, you can request for the higher version and pay for the current price difference. 

e.g. You are entitled to a Hive replacement. If you want to have Audition instead, you can pay $30.00 extra as the price difference and get Audition instead of Hive.
